Marisa Bosman
Actress and SANBS Ambassador

Why am I a SANBS Ambassador?

"It's with a personal agenda really, contrary to popular believe, personal agenda with a double meaning and not the negative. Not really for myself, but for my family and friends. If my family members were to end up in the hospital, worst case scenario ending up in emergency room having to go through an operation and no surplus. Knowing that I can do something and not doing it. Not a chance!"

Marisa entertained her classmates from a very early age and at sixteen she performs her first professional role as a pit singer in the musical THE Wizz (1996).  She joins a amateur theatre group and forms part of an opera group existing out of PACOFS opera singers (1996 -2002).  She completes her BA Drama and Theatre Arts degree with merit in 2002 at the University of the Free State and perform as a soloist in The Singing Christmas Tree. She tours to several arts festivals with SHARDS – a cabaret,  Limerieke Sonder Brieke – word program, and two Afrikaans jewels of theatre; Die Proponentjie as Klein Griet and Poppie in ‘n SEDER VAL IN WATERKLOOF. Other theatre credits include The Sound Of Music as Sister Bertha, My Fair Lady, Chava in Fiddler On The Roof, Tuptim in The King And I, Mariaan in ONS VIR JOU, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, Mrs Darling in PETER PAN PANTOMIME, Polly in The Boyfriend, Elmira in one of Moliere’s most loved plays Tartuffe and a ‘dof poppie’ in Chef, Rattle & Roll and later this year Anna in THE KING AND I at the Guild Theatre in East London. Marisa’s television credits include Begeertes, a drama for kykNET, as Sandy and Ester in a Willie and Pieter Esterhuizen sitcom Hester En Ester Bester also for kykNET.  She is a voiceover artist and added to her resume are several TV- and radio ads.
